We had a lovely peaceful Christmas day, with just our family. The kids enjoyed opening their presents (of course!). We sang some carols, read the Bible story about Jesus' birth, had a roast lunch, played some games together, and went for a walk.

Happy New Year. Hard to imagine snow when it's over 30 degrees here and we are thinking of the beach!
Just re-read your Christmas Day blog! I am wondering what family traditions you started and how they went? (Mentioned in previous blog.) The photos are, as always, so lovely. The children are growing so fast! We look forward so much to seeing you again later this year! (Really excited! :))
"owie" - any cut or scratch "go potty" - something you continue to do even when you are five, ... or even more? "..come with" in various forms. they leave off the pronoun at the end "scootch" - move over "cell phone" instead of mobile "dead" battery instead of flat "cookie" for a biscuit "biscuit" = scone "playdate" when you have a friend over "under-nighter" when the playdate includes dinner, but not actually staying overnight "junior/senior/freshman/sophmore" years 9-12 at school, and I think they use it again for "college" = uni including accomodation, because nearly everyone moves out for college
"fortnight" is not used and they have no idea what you mean
