This week we have been hosting our friends from St Mark's, Francis and Lysbeth Fong. They arrived on Wednesday after an 8 hour plane ride that should have only taken 4 hours. (Don't worry - I'm sure it won't happen to you if you come to visit :) We spent a great day "downtown" on Thursday, the highlight being running to catch a cruise we had booked, and missing the boat. Fortunately, we got to go on the next boat. It was an architecture tour down the river, and was fantastic! It you want to get a good picture of Chicago, watch the movie "The Lakehouse" with Sandra Bullock.
On Friday Francis and Lysbeth watched with amusment while Scott and I had our ice-skating lesson, then we went to check out Trinity University (see the photo). Francis was very excited to walk past Don Carson, and see his office. Today we have enjoyed a slower pace, taking the kids to the playground, and eating Chicago pizza with our neighbours. It is wonderful to be able to catch up on the news from Australia, and chat with people who can understand our accent!
