Scott's birthday was beautiful and sunny. With the kids in school, we took the opportunity to go to the city for lunch. Still being freezing cold, there weren't many people around. We liked being able to see the river frozen over, and the skating rink at Millenium Park.

First photo- Is that a crown of lights on the Birthday boy's head! Well, It ought to be! Delighted to hear and see your happy celebration. Happy Birthday, Scott. And beware those icicles, Kate! When will you sue somebody?-just kidding, to all those litigants out there. ;-)
"owie" - any cut or scratch "go potty" - something you continue to do even when you are five, ... or even more? "..come with" in various forms. they leave off the pronoun at the end "scootch" - move over "cell phone" instead of mobile "dead" battery instead of flat "cookie" for a biscuit "biscuit" = scone "playdate" when you have a friend over "under-nighter" when the playdate includes dinner, but not actually staying overnight "junior/senior/freshman/sophmore" years 9-12 at school, and I think they use it again for "college" = uni including accomodation, because nearly everyone moves out for college
"fortnight" is not used and they have no idea what you mean
