There isn't any snow (yet), and we missed Christmas, but there are still Christmas trees and decorations around, and it is always nice to have an open fire and a hot chocolate.

Hi Kate and Scott
Glad you've arrived safely - sounds as though everything is going OK. Happy birthday to Scott for yesterday - hope you had a great day.
"owie" - any cut or scratch "go potty" - something you continue to do even when you are five, ... or even more? "..come with" in various forms. they leave off the pronoun at the end "scootch" - move over "cell phone" instead of mobile "dead" battery instead of flat "cookie" for a biscuit "biscuit" = scone "playdate" when you have a friend over "under-nighter" when the playdate includes dinner, but not actually staying overnight "junior/senior/freshman/sophmore" years 9-12 at school, and I think they use it again for "college" = uni including accomodation, because nearly everyone moves out for college
"fortnight" is not used and they have no idea what you mean
