Red Velvet cake

Scott has been watching some cooking shows on tv, and was inspired to make this cake. It is a red velvet cake, which is basically a heavy chocolate cake with red food colouring. I think originally they used to get the colour naturally (from red cabbage or something). They tend to make it for Valentines Day. It was a great cake, and so much the more because it was cooked by Scott!

Visitors

My camera is full of photos, and I am way behind in blogs. So here goes.
We had a lovely visit with our friends from Australia for two weeks.

Gracie really enjoyed having a friend to play dolls house with her (because Angie isn't really interested - so much for having a twin). They spent ages in the playroom. At one stage I heard J call out to Gracie "wake-up everyone in Melbourne!" as the dolls were apparently living in two different countries. They also played aeroplanes quite a bit, with the cheap seats and expensive seats. I really enjoyed having a toddler in the house again without having to wake-up at 5:30am when she did. It is so much more fun when they are not your own :)
Luke did lots of cooking with all the members of our family. The highlight for me was that Luke taught Scott how to cook ribs on the grill.

It was great to hear the Ausie accent again, and catch up on news from our old church, and have friends to share our experience with.

Dante

Dante doesn't get as many blogs devoted to him as the girls. Mostly becasue he is often at school when we do things with the girls, or otherwise watching tv or playing DS (hmmmm). He is also at an awkward stage for photos, if you know what I mean. But we love him, and think he is ACE!

Ballet recital

Grace and Angie had their ballet recital on Sunday. They did a classical dance, and a tap dance. They both did really well.
